Kingdom Contours: The Afterparty

After eight weeks exploring Kingdom Contours, we close the series with an honest, practical conversation.

In this “Afterparty” episode, Brian Johnson joins Monica and Jeremy Chambers to reflect on what happens after you finish the book — when theory meets real life. They talk about why spiritual formation and mission must be practiced in community, what changes when you actually implement the ideas, and how to begin noticing what God is already doing around you.

If you’ve read the book, this conversation helps you move forward.
If you haven’t, this episode will help you understand why practice — not just knowledge — is where transformation happens.

“In theory, theory and practice are the same—until you practice.”

What you’ll hear in this episode:

  • Why simple practices become complex when lived out

  • What it looks like to move from theory to obedience

  • Noticing where God is already at work

  • Taking real steps in community

  • Releasing control and trusting the Spirit

A Practical Tool: The Energizing Cycle

One simple practice discussed in this episode is a periodic reflection rhythm that helps you notice what God is doing and respond intentionally.

Try asking:

  • Where have I seen God at work recently?

  • Who is God highlighting in my context?

  • What might I need to start, stop, or pause?

  • Where does it seem the Spirit is leading next?

This is not about achieving results. It’s about paying attention and stewarding what God is already doing.
